National Unity Day is celebrated in Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School, Dugri on 31 October. Mrs. Poonam told about the importance of this day. It was introduced by the Government of India in 2014. The day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel who had a major role in the political integration of India. Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel was India’s first deputy Prime Minister and is popularly known as the ‘Iron Man of India’. He played a major role in persuading over 500 princely states to accede to the independent Indian. Students participated in different activities like poem recitation, role play and poster making. Principal Mrs. Manisha Madaan motivated all by saying, India is a country of diversities - religions, cultures, traditions and languages. So, it is important to maintain the nation's unity. We should never forget Patel's contribution to Indian history.
