RAKHI
Cheer and giggles of siblings, prayer and blessings of elders, learning and merriment for children. This is Rakshabandhan all about. Happy Raksha Bandhan!
Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School, Dugri celebrated Rakhi festival on 22nd Of August. Mrs. Poonam spoke on the significance of the day. Raksha Bandhan, literally meaning “safety” and “bond”, celebrates the auspicious brother-sister relationship. Raksha Bandhan is observed on the full-moon day or Purnima. On this day, every sister ties a thread on the wrist of her brother as a symbol of her unconditional faith in him and of her prayers for his long life. In return, the brother promises to keep her happy always and protect her from all troubles throughout his life. The festival celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. Students participated in different activities like Rakhi making, Poem recitation, Song and Dance performances. Principal Mrs. Manisha Madaan said, "The bonding between a brother and a sister is simply unique and is beyond description in words. The relationship between siblings is extraordinary and is given importance in every part of the world."
