The World needs Science and Science needs Women and Girls
BVM High School, Dugri commemorated International Women Day in Science on Feb 11, 2021 to celebrate the astonishing accomplishments of Women who have beaten the odds and become role models in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), smashing stereotypes and defeating discrimination against women in Science. Stuti, student of Class X, accented the importance of the day by saying that the celebration is being done only because no other species possess such plethora of activities. She highlighted the role of women and girls in the major challenges of the time and their active contribution in the areas of Science and Technology that has paved economic development. Students of class X, Sneha and Ekta appreciated the work of Women in the field of Science by reciting beautiful poems. Collage Making activity was also performed by the students of higher section that represented the images of different women who have worked extraordinarily, excelled and contributed in STEM. Principal, Ms. Manisha Madaan, inspired all the students (especially girl students) to realise their worth and power and to understand that only they can empower themselves. She further added that with the thriving persistence and hard-work, they can become the best version of themselves.
