Seminar on the topic - The Negative Impact of Social Media & Behavioural Changes in Children « 29/Nov/2025

Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Sr. Sec. School, Dugri, organized an insightful and awareness-driven Parents’ Session on the topic “The Negative Impact of Social Media and Behavioural Changes in Children.” The session was specially conducted for the parents of students from Classes VIII to XII, keeping in view the growing influence of digital media on young minds. The session was led by the school psychologist, Dr. Navpreet Bhathal, who addressed the various behavioural, emotional, and academic challenges that children face due to excessive or unchecked use of social media. Dr. Bhathal highlighted issues such as distraction, anxiety, comparison, aggression, mood swings, and declining communication among adolescents. She further guided parents on setting healthy digital boundaries, monitoring online activities ethically, and promoting balanced screen time at home. Parents were encouraged to engage in open communication with their children and create a supportive environment. Principal Mrs. Manisha Madaan, expressed gratitude to all parents for their active participation and reaffirmed the school's commitment to nurturing not only the academic growth of students but also their emotional and psychological well-being.
