Bhartiya Vidya Mandir High School, Dugri celebrated World Athletics Day to raise awareness among children and young people about the importance of fitness. On this day our sports teacher, Mr. Jagmeet delivered an informational speech. He told that this day was introduced in 1996 by the International Amateur Athletic Federation. It launched it as a social responsibility project 'Athletic for a better world '. Various athletics activities were performed. Races were held for the classes from nursery to 4th. Chess tournament was held for the classes 6th and 7th in which class VI stood first. Badminton tournament was held for the classes VII and VIII in which VII class stood first. In the Badminton tournament of classes IX and X, girls of IX class and boys of X class bagged the first position. Principal of the school Ms. Manisha Madaan motivated the students to participate in athletics and sports along with the studies.
