The advent of Spring was rejoiced in its full bloom on Monday, Feb 15, 2021 at BVM High School, Dugri. Keeping the tradition of inculcating values in today’s modern times, the school organised a small function for the offline as well as online students. A special assembly was held to pay obeisance to the Goddess of Learning. The celebration commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony ignited by Principal, Ms. Manisha Madaan. Children devotionally rendered the Saraswati Vandana as they implored the goddess to bestow the gift of knowledge and wisdom on them and all those associated with the institution. Yellow colour-representative of spiritual knowledge is given importance on Basant Panchmi. So students brought traditional yellow dishes in their tiffins. Everyone offered yellow coloured flowers to Goddess Saraswati and sought blessings. Ravinder, student of class IX, acquainted all with the significance of the day and made them aware of the important events of Indian history associated with the day. Ms. Sampada (TGT Hindi) presented a soulful and melodious bhajan that created a pious aura in the premises. Class III and IV students performed Flower making activity. Inter class Prayer Competition was also conducted for students of Class VII, VIII, IX and X in which Class X students bagged first position. The function concluded by awarding Certificates to the winners. Addressing everyone present at the assembly, the Principal glorified the magnificence of Goddess Saraswati and apprised the students of the importance of the festival. She exhorted the students to make best use of their time and to be progressive learner’s, setting big goals and putting dedicated efforts as a promising and flourishing human harvest in order to have a splendid future.
